PGM IMPIAN CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIP

Sukree, Rizal lead at Impian

Sukree Othman and Rizal Amin joint leaders after the first round of the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour's RM180,000 Impian Closed Championship at Impian Golf & Country Club in Kajang today.

The top-two posted rounds of five-under 67 to lead by one stroke from Kenneth De Silva, R. Nachimuthu and Lam Yu Shuen. There was also a four-way tie for sixth where Rashid Ismail, Alex Tong, Shahriffuddin Ariffin and Kim Leun Kwang carded 69s.

On a course that did not play exceptionally tough for the full field, Sukree, a multiple winner on Tour, was bogey-free, played 34 over the first nine and 33 coming back. Rizal, meanwhile, had a front nine 33 and 34 over the back nine. Happy with his start, Sukree said: "To play bogey-free is always good and I'm pleased with the start.

"My aim of course will be to try and continue with this through the week and hopefully come out with the right result."
