day 3 One of Malaysia’s leading young talents, Arie Irawan, has played himself into a great position to win his first Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour title after yet another disciplined round in the Port Dickson Championship at Port Dickson Golf & Country Club in Negeri Sembilan today. It is the Psychology books that made hims play better golf sine recently

The 24-year-old lad, who was born in Miri, Sarawak and now resides in Kuala Lumpur, carded a six-under 65 to lead the event, which is co-sanctioned with Asian Development Tour, by five shots after the third round.

Irawan, who like several of the top players in the field, has made it no secret that it is his aim to finish in the top-five of the ADT Order of Merit this season, which would bring with it an automatic berth in the Asian Tour proper next year.

day 2   Arie Irawan  takes the lead
Arie Irawan carded a fine five-under-par 66 to take sole possession of the halfway lead in the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour’s Port Dickson Championship at Port Dickson Golf & Country Club in Negeri Sembilan today.

Co-leader overnight, Irawan opened up a two-stroke gap at the top over American Brett Munson – the 28-year-old, who is in his first season in both the PGM Tour and Asian Development Tour and who fired a 66 of his own.

Irawan finished the second day with an 11-under 131 total, which ensured the two-stroke cushion at the top of the leaderboard in the co-sanctioned event and will have given him a lot of confidence going into the last two days.

day 1 Wisut ARTJANAWAT  a Thai leads day one
Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour’s Port Dickson Championship
Malaysia’s Arie Irawan picked up on his recent good form when he carded a disciplined six-under 65 to share the lead after the opening round of the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) Tour’s Port Dickson Championship at Port Dickson Golf & Country Club in Negeri Sembilan today.

The 24-year-old, who registered a career best on the Tour with his runner-up finish in Sarawak earlier this month, topped the leaderboard with Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat in an event that is co-sanctioned with the Asian Development Tour and carries world ranking points.

The efforts of the leaders were good enough for a one-stroke advantage over American Roberto Galletti and two better than two other players from the US, Alex Kang and Brett Munson, and another local hope S. Siva Chandhran
