Pijit Petchkasem of Thailand shot the best round of the day - a six-under 65 - to grab a share of the lead at the halfway stage of the PGM Tour's RM200,000 Terengganu Championship today.

The Bangkok player had eight birdies in his round, countered by two bogeys, and moved to eight-under 134 for the tournament - equal with Micah Lauren Shin.

The 17-year-old American, who led after his first day 64, carded 70 today.

The Thai pair of Pavit Tangkamolprasert (70) and Pasamet Pogamnerd (67) were joint third a stroke back on 135, while Englishman Grant Jackson (67), Myanmar veteran Zaw Moe (67) and Rattanon Wannasrichan (68) also of Thailand were tied for fifth on five-under 137.

Get it straight- keep it simple
